Harambee Starlets’ 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against Tunisia will be staged at Ulinzi Sports Complex on February 21.
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) announced that the return leg will be played away in Tunis, Tunisia, on February 25, 2025. It will be the first game to be played at the venue following the facility’s closure for rehabilitation ahead of the CHAN in August.
Head coach Beldine Odemba said they will adopt an attacking game against the Tunisians. Harambee Starlets will be looking to capitalise on home advantage as they seek to take a strong lead into the return leg in Tunisia
“Tunisia are a strong side but we are ready for the challenge ahead. In our home match, we need to score and press forward aggressively to secure a positive result,” she said.
She also underlined her decision to integrate youth players into the squad: “The youth are the future of football. Bringing them into the senior team helps build a conveyor belt of talent,” she emphasised. “A great example is former Junior Starlets’ captain Elizabeth Ochaka, who has already played at the highest level including leading Kenya to the 2024 Fifa U17 Women’s World Cup.”
A total of 26 players have reported to camp, with the remaining 10 international players set to join when the Fifa international window opens.
