Ben Stanley Omondi will wait longer to play for Gor Mahia as his transfer from Kakamega Homeboyz FC continues to take long to materialise.

The midfielder, who joined Homeboyz on loan from National Super League side Migori Youth FC in September, is unable to play after Homeboyz reportedly declined to terminate the loan agreement.

After an impressive loan spell at Kakamega Homeboyz, Omondi made his international debut at the Mapinduzi Cup last December, leading KO’gallo to seek his services.

He has been training with KO’gallo at Mpesa Foundation, Thika, but can’t get play due to the push and shove between the Ingo side and KO’gallo.

Omondi, who previously featured for Ulinzi Stars, was siought to beef up KO’gallo’s front line.

This is not the first time Omondi has been caught up in a transfer fix, having previously seen his trials move to an Italian lower-tier side hit a snag following a travel document hitch.

Meanwhile, Congo International goalkeeper Giscard Mavoungou has joined Gor Mahia from As Otoho.

Elsewhere, Tusker FC have signed Ian Simiyu from National Super League side Nzoia Sugar, while winger Luke Namanda returns to Ruaraka after a stint with AFC Leopards.

Another transfer move has seen former AFC Leopards and Shabana FC midfielder Eugine Mukangula join Mathare United after taking a break from football to sort out his personal issues. The January mid-transfer period that opened on January 31 concludes on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 5 pm.
