Kenyan pros Dismas Indiza and Njoroge Kibugu fired five under par 67 and three under par 69 respectively on the second round of the Uganda Open to storm the top four.
The Kenyans ranked joint-four alongside Namibia’s Paulino Kasoma, who carded five under par 139.
Home pro Ronald Rugumayo extended his lead to eight under par 136 after round two, followed by Rwandese Celestin Nsasuwera — seven under par 137 — as another Ugandan David Kamulindwa, ended the round on third with six under par 136.
Indiza, who had a bad start in round one on Wednesday with -2, carded five under par 67 to tie with Kibugu, who had played the same score.
Another Kenyan, Samuel Chege concluded round two with -4 140 ahead of the penultimate round on Friday morning with the four-day 72-hole tournament concluding on Saturday at Uganda Golf Club in Kampala.
Daniel Nduva fired -2 69 to add on his level par 70 he carded in the first round for 142 gross.
Professional Golfers of Kenya (PGK) captain John Wangai, who was the top Kenyan in round one with -2 70, sunk deep with +1 73 in the second round to conclude the round in position T13 on -1 143.
