Over 100 golfers are expected to headline the 17th leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour at Machakos Golf Club this Saturday.

The action gets underway at 6:30 am with top teams targeting slots in the Tour's Grand Finale on December 6.

“This is the second year running we are visiting Machakos Golf Club and this underscores our commitment to grow the game in this talent-rich region.

Our involvement is aimed at expanding the game and ensuring everyone becomes part of our series,” said KCB Marketing and Communications Director, Rosalind Gichuru.

The tournament, which will see the top two teams secure a slot in the finale, will also feature recent qualifiers Jeff Muthoki, Winston Kirimi, Kevin Kabugi, Ian Kirimi, Gabriel Miungi, captain Anthony Rukwaro, James Warui and Rama Maulid, all of whom shone during the Nanyuki leg two weeks ago.

“The course is in good shape and our fairways are wide enough for the players to enjoy themselves," Machakos Golf Club captain Stephen Musyoka said.

"I appreciate KCB for thinking about us and showing belief in our capacity to host a successful tournament. We look forward to seeing the overall winners.”

In addition to competition, the bank has embedded sustainability at the heart of the series, with tree-planting exercises carried out at various courses, underscoring the bank's commitment to addressing climate change.
