Over 300 players to grace NCBA Golf Series at Royal Nairobi Club

Home player and 2023 winner, John Odhiambo, is among those expected to battle for the top prize at the par 72 course.

More than 300 golfers are on Saturday expected to grace the Royal Nairobi Golf Club leg of the ongoing NCBA Golf Series.

Home player and 2023 winner, John Odhiambo, is among those expected to battle for the top prize at the par 72 course.

The leg will offer golfers a chance to qualify for the grand finale to be held at the Muthaiga Golf Club in November.

Six players from each qualifying event—including the top male and female finishers in Divisions One, Two and Three and the overall Junior winner—will secure their spots in the final round.

Over 100 golfers have already qualified based on their performance in previous events, with the latest qualifiers emerging from the recent regional tournament in Rwanda last weekend.

Over 180 players featured at the Kigali Golf Resort and Villas with three booking their slots at the finale.  They include Paul Ntaganda, Murekatete Alphonsine and Bethlehem Umuzabibu.

This year’s edition, launched at the Royal Nairobi Golf Club in February, has traversed beyond Kenya, featuring tournaments in Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda, underscoring NCBA’s commitment to promoting golf across East Africa.

"As we return to the Royal Nairobi Golf Club, where our 2024 series was launched, we are thrilled to witness the growth and enthusiasm in the golfing community," said NCBA's John Gachora.

"This series is a testament to our dedication to the sport and offers a unique platform for golfers to showcase their skills on an international level. We are proud to support this dynamic sport that fosters community and skill development across the region."

Two more legs are scheduled for Nyali Golf and Country Club and the Great Rift Valley Lodge.
