Kabras Sugar Sevens coach, Felix Ayange, is confident his team is on the right trajectory to conquer the National Sevens Circuit this season.

Kabras Sugar edged Quins 10-5 to win their second national Sevens series title at the Prinsloo Sevens in Nakuru on Sunday, extending their lead to 66 points on the log.

“Our sights are set on winning the overall circuit and it is very important that we had a strong start, as it directly influences the journey and eventual outcome,” Ayange said.

“The circuit is akin to a marathon, not a sprint, and the team is fully committed to taking it one tournament at a time,” acknowledged Ayange.

This approach has been instrumental in their impressive performance thus far, surpassing their initial goals and consistently meeting expectations throughout the circuit.

“I credit the team's success to meticulous planning and flawless execution as our achievements are not a result of luck but the dedication of the players and staff,” acknowledged Ayange.

As they prepare for the upcoming Christie Sevens in Nairobi, Ayange revealed that they have their sights set on clinching their third title so far and extending their winning streak.

“We recognise the value of young talent as we are really focused on identifying promising players from schools and clubs and fostering growth in their careers,” said the former Kenyan international.

Throughout the circuit, two standout players have been instrumental in Kabras Sugar’s success – Fijian-born Jone Kubu and Shujaa superstar Kevin Wekesa.
