Fresh from winning the Prinsloo Sevens in Nakuru last weekend, on-form Kabras Sugar will be seeking a repeat performance at the Christie Sevens slated for this weekend at the RFUEA grounds.

Kabras will fancy their chances of winning a third consecutive tournament to stretch their lead at the top of the standings.

Felix Ayange's charges open their campaign against neighbours Masinde Muliro University before confronting Impala and Nakuru in the preliminary matches of Pool 'A'.

Ayange said his charges will use the momentum from the past two tournaments to extend their good run.

"We are in a good run; 12 matches unbeaten but we are not taking anything for granted. It's a tricky pool and as you saw last week, things can change very fast. So we have to be on our guard," said Ayange.

The former Sevens international has made only one change to the 13-man squad with Malik Habil recalled in place of Eric Cantona.

The core of the squad that have done duty in the Seven series will play including Kevin Wekesa, Brian Tanga, Jone Kubu, Lameck Ambetsa and Brycseon Adaka.

Hosts Quins will be aiming to go a place better in their home tournament when they face Daystar Academy, Blak Blad and Homeboyz in Pool 'B'.

Skipper Paul 'Boi' Mutsami believes the event is a good opportunity to atone for the loss last weekend in Nakuru.

"We got to the final and came up short. We have had a good week of training and correcting  our defensive errors and I am confident with the support of home fans, we can go all the way."

KCB entertain Kisumu, Catholic Monks and Strathmore Leos in Pool 'C'.  After two semifinal exits, KCB head coach Andrew Amonde has urged his charges to seize the opportunity and win the event.

"The last two tournaments we have come unstuck in the semifinal. We had ball-handling errors and got penalised at the breakdown. So, we need to correct those two facets of play. Our attack looks sharp and the boys are in good shape and are raring to go," offered Amonde.

Series champions Menengai Oilers have a date with Mwamba, Nondies and Sigalagala in Pool 'D' and tactician Gibson Weru wants his charges to improve accuracy in attack and the break-down.

"Our analysis showed we struggled in the semis when it came to accuracy and at the breakdown and, therefore, I believe you will see an improvement at the tournament and hopefully, we will win the leg," said Weru.

The top two sides in each pool qualify for the cup quarterfinals while the teams placed third and fourth head to the classification matches.
