Ojee appointed KCB captain for upcoming Kenya Cup season

Winger Jacob Ojee has been named the KCB rugby captain for the 2024-2025 Kenya Cup season.

Ojee takes over from hooker Griffin Musila and will be deputised by flanker Peter Waitere.

The fleet-footed winger is among the experienced players at the club having played for the Kenya Simbas and Shujaa.

The bankers, through their social media platforms, announced: "Breaking News. New reign, same dream. New leadership, same expectations. Here are the 2024-2025 KCB Lions Captains. Jacob ‘The Swag Runner’ Ojee and Peter ‘Parma’ Waitere, we BELIEVE." 

The duo have been at the club for the past decade and their experience and leadership will be vital if they are to wrestle the Kenya Cup title from rivals Kabras, who have won the crown for the past three seasons.

Olago has been replaced By former Kenya Simbas second row and KCB titan Oliver Mang'eni, to be assisted by Mark Mshila and Dennis Mwanja. Strength and conditioning coach Mike Shamiah also left the club last month soon after the bankers won the Kabeberi Sevens crown, beating Menengai Oilers 29-7 at the RFUEA grounds.
