The bankers won the Kabeberi Sevens on August 24 but coach Dennis Mwanja wants his charges to focus on the home straight.

In Summary

• The bankers have been given a favourable pool for the Driftwood Sevens. They face hosts Mombasa Sports Club (MSC), Blak Blad and the fast-improving Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology ( MMUST) in Pool 'A'.

• Pool 'C' is, arguably, the group of death where leaders Quins face Kabras Sugar, Nakuru and Mwamba.

Teamwork and improvement in attack are the areas KCB Sevens are addressing heading into the final two rounds of the National Seven Series.

The bankers won the Kabeberi Sevens on August 24 but coach Dennis Mwanja wants his charges to focus on the home straight.

"This is when the series gets tough... the travelling,  fatigue and many other factors come into play. We must stay ahead of the chasing pack to retain the title,” noted Mwanja.

He believes the bankers are yet to hit their peak in attack despite their 29-7 demolition of Oilers at the Kabeberi Sevens.

“We need to polish up our attack, especially in one-on-one situations. Our defence needs to tighten up. We will work on these areas before departure (for Mombasa)," said Mwanja.

The bankers have been given a favourable pool for the Driftwood Sevens. They face hosts Mombasa Sports Club (MSC), Blak Blad and the fast-improving Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology ( MMUST) in Pool 'A'.

“It's a tricky pool but we want to hit the ground running from the first game to put us in a strong position in qualifying for the knockout rounds,” said Mwanja.

The bankers are third on the log with 67 points, nine behind leaders Quins. Kabras are second with 73 points.

Mwanja said his side can cope with the pressure in the final two tournaments.

"We have been here before and we are more than ready to go all the way,” added Mwanja.

Menengai Oilers, fourth with 60 points, are in Pool 'B' alongside Daystar Falcons, Nondescript and TUM Marines.
