KCB team will be without Shujaa playmaker Samuel Asati, Floyd Wabwire and Michael Wamalwa for the Prinsloo Sevens this weekend in Nakuru.

Asati and Wabwire suffered minor ankle injuries while Wamalwa had a concussion at the same tournament with protocols requiring him to be out for two weeks

Coach Andrew Amonde said despite the injuries, he believes he has enough at his disposal to be competitive at the event.

“It's the nature of the game. Some players get injuries but our squad is big enough to cope without them and go deep into the tournament."

The bankers have blown hot and cold this season—winning the Kababeri Sevens but losing the Ingo and Driftwood Sevens finals to Quins.

They will be hoping Quins falter in their pursuit of the national sevens crown.

"Yes it is out of our hands but we are praying results go our way in Nakuru. We had two very good sessions analysing what went wrong in Mombasa and I expect the boys to bounce back," added Amonde.

Skipper Jacob Ojee was satisfied with the performance of his charges in the five tournaments this season.

“I am proud of these boys who have been relentless in our pursuit to retain the National Sevens title. The competition has been extremely tough, especially from Kabras and Kenya Harlequin but we have been there with them. We are motivated now more than ever to go out there and solidify our place as a top club in the Kenyan rugby scene," Ojee noted.

KCB are in Pool 'B' of the Prinsloo Sevens alongside Nondies, Mwamba, and Nakuru RFC.

Amonde observed that it would be a tricky pool for his charges. "Nondies are a quality side and can beat anyone on their day. Nakuru are also a team who are very strong while Mwamba will want to finish the season strongly,”  he added.
