Suba South MP Caroli Omondi has denied that he is being financed by President William Ruto to rock the opposition leadership in Parliament.
Omondi denied the claims on Saturday at Koduogo village in Uriri constituency.
He had accompanied Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo during a relief food distribution exercise.
“I’m not being financed by Ruto or Kenya Kwanza, the chopper I came with here has been fueled by tax payers and I am also not in any stipend,” Omondi said.
He said he will push through a move to remove Suna East MP Junet Mohammed as the Minority Whip in the National Assembly.
Omondi accused Parliament accusing him of undermining other leaders in the ODM party, Luo Nyanza and for bungling the last presidential elections.
“Somebody (Junet) who has not gone to school can not lead us in Parliament, even as Nyanza leaders we will not be led by an outsider,” Omondi vowed.
He claimed that apart from Raila Odinga, it is him who has invested more in his presidential bid and the ODM party to be pushed by outsiders.
“Even in distribution of committee seats among opposition leaders was drawn in a sham way, Junet can’t hold and rally opposition legislators to a cause as we lost half of us in voting for Cherara four IEBC commissioners,” Caroli said.
He claimed that in 2013 when Junet vied for the first time as MP, he rode on shambolic ODM nominations against former Migori MP John Pesa.
Pesa unsuccessfully vied as governor in the August polls on DAP-Kenya ticket.
“In 2013, I was among people who helped register PDP to cut on shambolic ODM primaries and pushed Pesa to vie on the ticket, but he dropped it to support his son Peter on the ticket against Junet,” he said.
"In the last elections, there are people who did not work well and sidelined others, we will rectify that. While we were taking alcohol other sober leaders were covering more rallies daily.”
He said he will continue to follow and turn up in functions by Owalo, who he said was their eye as Luos in the government as he is the only one from the region who seats in the Cabinet.
Former Migori governor Okoth Obado also called out Junet for attacking distribution of relief food in Nyanza while ahead of August 9 elections he was doing the same while he was in government.
But Uriri MP Mark Nyamita avoided being dragged in the war and warned Owalo to desist from walking with leaders who are attacking other local leaders during his Nyanza tours.
“We welcome all leaders in Nyanza and would wish to have equally development as a region, but when such forums are used to attack local leaders we will shun them,” Nyamita said.
He said while they may seek development from Owalo and government, Raila and local leaders should be respected.
"We might have missed the presidency, but we will not be insulted," he said.
Nyamita said it was sad that Luo leaders in Kenya Kwanza have a notion of insulting Raila thinking that will get them job opportunities.
Migori county commissioner Meru Mwangi called for peace among leaders and all Kenyans to support government.
A total of 200 bags rice and 100 bags of beans, all in 5okgs bags were distributed.
Other leaders present were former Awendo MP Jared Kopiyo, former Rangwe MP Martine Ogindo, UDA politicians Rebecca Maroa and Odiso Ogenga among others.
