A section of Parklands residents has protested over an ongoing construction in the area which they said violates the set guidelines restricting such works a night.
Video of residents blocking the way to prevent a truck from dropping construction material showed agitated residents saying construction works can't occur at night.
The residents on Saturday night asked for the intervention of the county government saying the ongoing project at Taza lane parklands within Nairobi county is violating the law.
Residents who spoke said the project, allegedly being carried out in a residential area, has denied them sound sleep.
They say the project causes noise pollution and discomfort for them.
"We want a word from the governor, we are not leaving this place. We are blocking this lane until we get to know why the city hall has allowed constructions to go on at night," one of the residents said.
Residents who blocked the way for the truck carrying materials said they won't pave the way unless governor Johnson Sakaja clarifies the operations.
They have vowed to brave the cold night and rains until the issue is addressed.
Residents have been protesting over such construction on grounds that the requisite approval was not granted.
For one to carry out construction work at night, he or she will require a permit from the relevant authorities.
Such permits are, however, restricted in residential areas especially when they cause noise pollution.
