The government has put in place stringent measures to guarantee the safety of learners as schools reopen on Monday, Interior CS Raymond Omollo has said.
PS Omollo assured parents that there are enough mechanisms to enable students to continue with their studies smoothly.
He said they will constantly be monitoring the situation across the country working together with the Ministry of Education and all schools whether government-sponsored or the church.
The regional administration officials have been activated to closely monitor the safety of schools in the areas to ensure learning resumes uninterrupted.
The PS had earlier indicated that students, especially those in boarding schools, would begin their return between Friday and Monday.
The PS also took the opportunity to thank the government, leaders, church and wellwishers for coming in to assist victims of floods that have left many dead and property destroyed.
He also appealed to parents that there is no better way to take care of their children than to show them the way to church.
"When we show our children the church and learn as they grow up when they become adults they will remember to come back not just to church, not just to pray but also give assistance," the PS said.
He was speaking at St. Peter's Cathedral ACK, Ahero on Sunday for a Thanksgiving service in celebration of its 8th year since inception.
He was accompanied by Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda, Langata MP Phelix Odiwuor, LBDA MD Wycliffe Ochiaga and a host of MCAs among others.
Governor Sang took the opportunity to thank the PS for the connection and networking he is doing across this region.
He noted that they loved the level of engagement between the leadership with the government of the Nyanza region.
"You are already contributing to the success of President William Ruto to win in the next elections. We are excited that in terms of performance sons and daughters of the region are at the centre of implementation of the government agenda," Sang said.
