Orange Democratic Movement has embarked on a recruitment drive to strengthen the party's Migori county and other grassroot bases.
The initiative was spearheaded by ODM Deputy party leader Hassan Ali Joho, Suleiman Shahbal and Migori Governor Ochilo Ayacko.
"Accompanied by Migori County leaders and my brother Shahbal yesterday we set camp at Migori County to embark on the ODM party recruitment drive and strengthening of the grassroot base," Joho said.
The Orange party aims to expand its membership base, engage with grassroots communities, identify potential leaders, promote ideological alignment, counter rival parties, strengthen organisational structures, and foster diversity.
"Only a pragmatic and sincere people-centred political ideology will deliver our nation from the tough socio-economic challenges and inspire hope in the citizenry," Joho said.
The recruitment drive and strengthening of the grassroot bases comes after ODM party leader Raila Odinga on May 9, alleged that there was a plot to use the state machinery to destabilise its strongholds.
Joho expressed gratitude for the warm reception during the recruitment drive
"I am indeed grateful to my brother Ochilo Ayacko and the great people of Migori County for the warm reception," Joho added.
