He said by fighting Joho, instead of mobilising resources from the national government, Omar has failed as senator.Omar has announced he will run for governor. “Senators should play a watchdog role, but this should not be construed to mean constantly fighting with the governors,” Faki told reporters at his office on Saturday.

The bad blood between Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Senator Hassan Omar has derailed development, lawyer Mohammed Faki has said. He said by fighting Joho, instead of mobilising resources from the national government, Omar has failed as senator.

Omar has announced he will run for governor. “Senators should play a watchdog role, but this should not be construed to mean constantly fighting with the governors,” Faki told reporters at his office on Saturday. Faki was also a political activist in the 1990s.
