UDA has embarked on a major internal restructuring to transform it into a huge political movement, party secretary general Cleophas Malala has said.
He said the party's national elections set for December 19 will go on unless the National Executive Council decides otherwise.
"The elections will take place but December 19th is not a date cast in stone. We will listen to views from members and then decide the way forward," Malala said.
He said the party has permanently employed all its 50 regional and county coordinators who played a key role in last year's general election.
The party officials will now be known as county and regional managers.
"They are now on salaries and other benefits so that they fully concentrate on working for the party," Malala said.
He was speaking in Eldoret at the home of regional manager Paul Kiprop.
Kiprop, a close ally of President William Ruto, hosted Malala, Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii and all party managers for a luncheon.
The officials are in Eldoret for a four-day induction meeting to be trained on the changes taking place in the party.
Malala said the county managers will each have a branch office, a secretary and a security officer among other needs to facilitate smooth operations of UDA in all regions.
"By the time we reach the next elections, the party branches will be able to handle most issues with little reference to the headquarters," he said.
Malala said he would push on with efforts to ensure that UDA has presence in regions including areas that did not support Ruto in last year's elections.
"That is why we are busy in areas like Nyanza and Western to ensure that we have strong showing. We want UDA to be like the Chinese Communist Party or the ANC of South Africa," he said.
Malala insisted that affiliate parties including ANC and Ford Kenya should fold up and join UDA.
"My work is to market UDA and that is why I do so even in Western where we work with ANC and Ford Kenya," he said.
Malala however said he had no personal issues with ANC and Ford Kenya party leaders.
Kiprop said all the party managers were committed to work for UDA and ensure the party plans and manifesto are implemented.
"We will have our party manifesto and other Kenya Kwanza plans in our offices as a key guide to our work," Kiprop said.
He was serving as the coordinator in Uasin Gishu but has now been elevated to be UDA regional manager in the North Rift.
Governor Bii said he fully supports plans to strengthen UDA and accommodate all those who supported President Ruto.
He said those who won and lost during the last election should work together for the unity, peace and growth of the country.
