A 30-year-old woman was on Sunday night stabbed to death by his alleged ex-husband at Kilimagodo in Lunga-Lunga, Kwale County.

It is said the deceased Mlongo Mriphe Munga was stabbed multiple times in the chest and left hand by a knife and later succumbed to the injuries.

Mlongo had visited their home where the former husband also happens to live when the tragic incident occurred.

According to a police report, the incident happened around 7:45 pm on Sunday.

The report said the man identified as Maita Mwaka, 40, invaded the ex-wife's home after noticing her presence and committed the crime.

"The man sneaked into the ex-wife's homestead and stabbed her on the chest and left hand, where she bled profusely and died," the report states.

The report further reveals that the accused fled immediately after committing the heinous act.

The body was taken to the Msambweni County Referral Mortuary for postmortem.

The killing was motivated by a love triangle, according to the police report.

The police have since launched a manhunt for the accused and further investigation.

The residents have been urged to cooperate with law enforcement and provide relevant information that could assist in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

In February, two women were also hacked to death at Mtsangatifu in the Kinango subcounty.

The two were co-wives and were killed by a close relative in a suspected family feud.

The area OCPD Selina Kiluga warned Kwale residents against taking the law into their own hands and advised the community to resolve conflict peacefully.

She said violence won't be tolerated and those who will be found culpable shall face the full force of the law.
