Outgoing Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga has won the governor seat after garnering 244,559 votes.

The ODM candidate beat her opponent Evans Kidero, who came in second with 154,182 votes.

Wanga will succeed Cyprian Awiti.

On Tuesday, the two leaders vowed to accept the election outcome.

Wanga has served the county as the Woman MP for one term, having been elected in 2017.
