Wycliffe Ochiaga has been appointed the acting Managing Director of the Lake Basin Development Authority (LBDA) headquartered in the lakeside city of Kisumu.
The appointment was done by East African Community and Regional Development Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano.
This is according to a letter dated December 7, 2022.
Ochiaga has replaced Raymond Omollo who has since been appointed as the Principal Secretary state department for Interior and National Administration.
On Friday, the Interior PS Omollo today handed over office to Ochiaga officially at the LBDA headquarters in Mamboleo.
He urged the new Ag MD to ensure he continues to elevate the organization’s mantle.
Ochiaga, prior to his appointment was the Director for Internal Audit at LBDA a position he has successfully led the Authority in strengthening internal controls, corporate governance, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Ochiaga is an accomplished accountant with over 10 years of experience in financial management, audit, and corporate governance.
He holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor in Business Administration with Information Technology from Maseno University.
He is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya, the Institute of Internal Auditors of Kenya, and the Institute of Directors of Kenya.
Ochiaga brings a wealth of experience in project management, corporate governance, people management, and prudent financial management among others.
