IMF, World Bank should visit Kenya to understand country’s financial status better

Human Rights activist and former Kenya Civil Servants of Union leader, Isaac Kinity has urged the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the the World Bank to visit Kenya to understand the country’s financial status better.

He said the two international financial institutions should consult the Controller of Budget, Margaret Nyakongo.

He added that the proposed budget would hurt Kenyans if passed as it is. 

“Passing the Finance Bill will destroy the lives of millions of Kenyans,” he said.

Addressing a press conference in Nakuru, Kinity noted that Kenyans were also stressed by high taxes and high cost of living.

“There is no doubt that the proposed budget will not only further impoverish people but also hurt investors,” he said.

He said the IMF and the World Bank should first understand the correct information about what is happening on the ground.
