President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday met with Secondary School principals in Mombasa.

Uhuru presided over the official opening of the 45th Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association (KESSHA) annual national conference which is held at Sheikh Zayed Hall.

Over 10,000 secondary school principals countrywide have attended the one-week long conference.

Speaking at the event, Uhuru said the government is putting up additional 10,000 new classrooms and training over 60,000 secondary school teachers on CBC ahead of the junior secondary roll-out in January 2023.

In attendance are Interior CS Fred Matiang'i and Education CS George Magoha and Mombasa County Governor Hassan Joho.

The event is the first in-person such meeting since 2019.
