Kibera residents on Monday converged in a room ahead of the announcement of presidential results by IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati.
Chebukati, in a statement, said the commission will declare the winner on Monday at 4 pm.
Kenyans have closed businesses and rushed home to follow the proceedings in the comfort of their homes.
Traffic snarl-ups have been experienced in different parts of the country as Kenyans headed home.
The five-day verification of results forms came to an end on Monday.
The announcement will be made at the Bomas of Kenya in the presence of all presidential candidates, their agents and leaders allied to their parties.
