Talanta Hela awards ceremony was held on Friday at the Talanta Plaza in Upper Hill, Nairobi. 

President William Ruto was the chief guest during the award ceremony which honoured athletes who represented the country in the World Athletic Championship in Budapest.

Among the athletes who were honoured included Gold medalist in the 1,500 and 5,000 meter races Faith Kipyegon.

Kipyegon's two golds in Budapest capped a remarkable season which started with her breaking three world records inside seven weeks.

Both Kipyegon and 800m Gold medalist in the female's 800m, Mary Moraa, were awarded Sh2 million.

Malkia strikers were also awarded a cheque of Sh4 million for wining the Africa Women's Volleyball championship in Cameroon.
