Anti-Terrorism Police Unit's Emergency Response Team has undergone training on mobile tactical operations.
The training involved skillful tactical manoeuvres on motorbikes to counter suspects.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations said the training is timely because the country is actively battling existential terror threats and violent extremism.
"The war against terrorism has today received a major boost following the successful completion of a rigorous mobile tactical operations training offered to Anti-Terrorism Police Unit's - Emergency Response Team (ERT)," DCI said in a statement.
According to the DCI, ERT's operational capabilities have been majorly bolstered to achieve high precision and effectiveness.
This is due to the nature of their assignments that put their lives on the line.
The director of ATPU Mudambi Kola congratulated the team for its resilient efforts and indubitable will to serve the country.
Kola, who was representing DCI boss Mohamed Amin, assured the public that his team was mission-ready to deal with any threats posed by violent extremist groups.
He thanked the United States Anti-Terrorism Assistance (ATA) programme for facilitating the training, noting that the US government has been a salient partner in the war.
"DCI affirms the Directorate's commitment to quell all threats that challenge the sacredness of life," the statement read.
