President William Ruto led other leaders in mourning the mother to the former Narok governor Samuel Tunai, mama Annah Tikui Noolparakuo Tunai.
"In my journey of friendship and politics with the Tunai family, I can attest that Kokoo Annah Tikui Noolparakuo was a caring, responsible and generous mother," Ruto said.
"We celebrate the glorious life that she led and the cherishable memories that she leaves with us. Our prayers are with the family at this sad time."
The funeral service took place in Lolgorian, Narok on Monday and leaders including Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Narok Senator Ledama Ole kina were in attendance.
Mama Tunai died last week. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua had earlier condoled with Tunai, for the loss of his mother.
"The pain of losing a parent is immense. This evening, I condoled with former Narok Governor Samuel Ole Tunai and his family for the loss of his dear mother, Mama Annah Nolparokuo Tunai," Gachagua said.
"We pray for God's grace and favor to be upon Tunai and his family during this difficult time of grief. May the Soul of Mama Annah Tunai Rest in Eternal Peace."
