Military personnel on Saturday bid goodbye to their fallen boss Francis Ogolla with honour and in heartfelt eulogies.

The late Chief of Defence Forces was honoured with a 19-gun salute by the officers he led for close to one year.

This is since he died in office, on Thursday, April 18, 2024, in an aircraft crash in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

He died alongside Brigadier Swale Saidi, Colonel Duncan Keitany, Lieutenant Colonel David Sawe, Major George Benson Magondu and Captain Sora Mohamed.

Others were Captain Hillary Litali, Senior Sergeant John Kinyua Mureithi, Sergeant Cliphonce Omondi and Sergeant Rose Nyawira.

In accordance with his wishes, General Ogolla will be buried on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at his home in Mor village, Alego Usonga constituency, in Siaya County.

"In honour of his humble nature, General Ogolla specified that his burial occurs within 72 hours of his passing, echoing the profound truth that from dust we came and to dust we shall return," his family said through its coordinator Joel Ogolla.
