The national tree-planting exercise has continued in various parts of the country.

The government's ambitious goal is to cultivate 15 billion trees in 10 years.

Today's exercise is Kenya’s second National Tree Growing Day, following the inaugural ‘Green Holiday’ on November 13, 2023.

Environment Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya outlined the government's aim of having every adult plant at least 50 seedlings daily, and 10 for every child.

Various leaders led the tree planting exercise in counties.

Kiambu

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's spouse pastor Dorcas presided over the tree-planting exercise.

Kisumu

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria led the exercise at the county.

He was accompanied by PS Veronica Nduva.

Isiolo

The exercise at Gambela was presided over by the Ministry of Defence PS, Deputy CDF and Kenya Forest Service team where 3,000 trees were planted.
