DCI boss Mohamed Amin met security teams in Uasin Gishu on Tuesday.
The visit marks the first of a two-day tour in the region in a move aimed at fostering multi-agency efforts to combat crime.
Amin called upon all officers to embrace multi-agency spirit and teamwork to ensure that the county was safe and secure, said DCI in a statement on X.
"It is our responsibility to ensure that our country, people living in the areas we serve and their properties are safeguarded," Amin said.
Amin also acknowledged the proactive systems set up by the security teams to combat crime in the region, pointing out that that was the surest way of winning the trust of the public who play a crucial role in the collaborative efforts to curb crime.
Director Personnel Francis Ndiema who attended the meeting also called upon the officers to jealously guard the name of the National Police Service.
On his part, the Director of Operations Richard Mwaura deplored competition among services, noting that one and all had a collective responsibility to keep our nation safe.
Other senior officers accompanying the director include his assistant Lawrence Some and CP Charles Kanyuira.
