National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) Director General Mamo Boru Mamo welcomes Environment CS Soipan Tuya for the World Environment Day national celebrations at the University of Embu, on June 5, 2024

Kenya on Wednesday joined the rest of the globe in marking World Environment Day.

The national fete was held at the University of Embu.

Those present during the event include Environment CS Soipan Tuya and Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire.

Environment PS Festus Ng’eno, National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) board chairperson Emilio Mugo and DG Mamo Boru Mamo were also present.

This year's event was held under the theme, 'Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience'.
