Residents in Runda along Gakunju Road have been forced to flee after flooded water marooned their homes.

This follows a heavy downpour experience in parts of Nairobi and its metropolitan.

The residents used pipes to connect to their homes and directed the water to flow on the roads.

Bulldozers which came to drain water were left after they got stuck in the flooded water.

This comes as the world marks World Environment Day.

This year's event was held under the theme, 'Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience'.
