Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Thursday distributed
Sh70 million to beneficiaries of the human-wildlife conflict compensation in Naibor,
Laikipia county.
The amount was shared among 700 beneficiaries.
He said the government is paying out Sh950 million every
year as compensation for victims of Human-Wildlife Conflict.
The DP noted that since 2023, the government has paid a
record Sh2.8 billion as compensation.
Kindiki was accompanied by Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet
Secretary Rebecca Miano, Laikipia Governor Joshua Irungu, Laikipia County Woman
Representative Jane Kagiri, Laikipia North Member of Parliament Sarah Korere, and
MCAs among others.
