Embakasi East MP has urged his supporters to remain calm even as he faces the authorities at Kilimani police station.
Babu Owino was arrested on Friday over a shooting accident that happened at Kilimani's B club.
"A few weeks ago, I made a public statement regarding threats that I had been receiving against my life. At the turn of the year, I reported an attempted assassination at the Parliament Police Station," he said.
"I have been living under the weight of intimidation and threats by my political opponents."
In a statement on Friday, Babu said while enjoying the company of his friends, he was was surrounded by a large group of aggressive individuals.
"In the melee, there was an exchange of gunfire. I invite the relevant authorities to conduct their investigations without fear or favor," he said.
He added "and I remain confident that the truth will come out."
Babu said he will continue to serve wananchi fearlessly.
"This will not deter me from supporting H. E Uhuru Kenyatta and H. E Raila Odinga in the journey to transform our country," he added.
Police say the man who was shot at Kilimani's B club is injured and rushed to the hospital for treatment.
A witness told the Star that he walked in the building to find ladies wailing and men running around.
