Kenya on Friday recorded 221 new Covid-19 cases, from a sample size of 6,190 tested in the last 24 hours.
This now brings the total number of cases to 97,954.
The cumulative tests now stand at 1,081,863.
Of the cases, 201 are Kenyans and 20 are foreigners and as for the gender, 156 are males and 65 are females.
In terms of age, the youngest is a four-year-old child while the oldest is 85 years old.
On a good note, the country has recorded 365 recoveries, bringing the total number to 80,671.
354 recovered from the home based care program while 11 recovered from different health facilities.
Unfortunately, one more patient has succumbed to the disease, bringing the total number of fatalities in the country to 1,703.
Currently, there are 627 patients admitted in various health facilities countrywide and 2,191 on home based isolation care.
32 patients are in ICU, 19 of whom are on ventilatory support and 12 on supplemental oxygen. One is on observation.
Another 10 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen and are in the general wards. No patient is in High Dependency Unit.
Distribution of the cases by counties is as follows; Nairobi 81, Meru 35, Isiolo 22, Mombasa 16, Kisumu 10, Kitui nine, Nakuru seven, Busia and Kisii with six cases each.
Others are Lamu and Machakos with five cases each, Kajiado four, Laikipia three, Uasin Gishu and Kilifi with two cases each, while Kiambu, Nyandarua, Garissa, Trans Nzoia, Mandera, Bungoma, Vihiga and Murang'a with one case each.
