Law Society of Kenya president Nelson Havi has officially joined Deputy President William Ruto-associated party, United Democratic Alliance.
Havi was received by the DP at his Karen residence on Monday.
Present to welcome him to the party were; Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago, former National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale, and MPs Kimani Ichung'wah and Rigathi Gachagua.
This comes a few weeks after the LSK president announced that he would vie for the Westlands parliamentary seat in 2022.
In May, Havi announced that he had accepted calls from the people of Westlands constituency to represent them in Parliament come 2022.
“I have accepted the request of the people of Westlands Constituency to serve them and the nation in that capacity - MP effective August 2022 or earlier in the event parliament is dissolved,” Havi said.
Soon after the announcement, Havi joined the Musalia Mudavadi led, Amani National Congress before the switch to UDA.
The lawyer is keen to succeed current MP Tim Wanyonyi who has set his eyes on the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in 2022.
Tim will be seeking the seat on an ODM ticket.
