Kenya College of Accountancy University has formally installed its third vice chancellor Isaiah Wakindiki.
Wakindiki was instaled by varsity chancellor Olive Mugenda during the 13th graduation on Friday.
In his maiden speech, Wakindiki thanked members of staff for working hard to keep the varsity's name at the top.
He also noted that most students in the institution are there because they chose to be placed at KCA.
“Ninety-seven percent of the students placed here by KUCCPS in the recent intake selected KCA as their first option,” he said.
Wakindiki is a Professor in Soil Science with over 28 years of teaching and research experience, 19 of which he has served at senior level in University Management.
Mugenda noted that the varsity had witnessed a great milestone in the quality of the graduates it produces.
"The establishment of a center for teaching and learning which I believe will also bring standardisation in areas of teaching methods and culture," she said.
George Njoroge received a doctorate degree as a Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa.)
Njoroge was honoured for his notable contribution to the field of science research.
The Doctor is the chair of scientific research and innovation at Kenya Medical Research Institute.
Of the 2,367 graduates, 1,382 degrees, 146 Master's degrees, 774 Diplomas, 13 postgraduate Diplomas, and 52 professional programmes were awarded.
Being known for its accounting programmes, 1,653 graduates were produced from the school of business.
Another 525 graduates were in the school of technology, 103 in the school of education, and 86 from the school of professional programs.
KCA has an estimated 16,000 student capacity under four colleges and 40 programmes around accounting, finance, education information technology, and research.
The courses are spread across the main campus, city center, Kitengela, and Kisumu campus.
About 60 percent of the students are self–sponsored.
