Law professor Makau Mutua has expressed confidence he will be able to convince Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi to join him in backing ODM leader Raila Odinga as the best presidential candidate.
Mutua posted a photo of himself, Abdullahi and lawyer Donald Kipkorir having a meal and said that they had outnumbered him, despite the Senior Counsel giving good arguments.
Taking to Twitter, he said,
GM @ahmednasirlaw was outnumbered 2-1 by the great @DonaldBKipkorir and me, but the SC held up admirably. He argued his case well, but fell short. I can assure fellow Kenyans that Grand Mulla is starting to see the light and hear the good news. Pole pole ataingia pin wallahi! pic.twitter.com/9oCgTgh0Ty

Abdullahi, popularly known as the Grand Mulla, is perceived as a supporter of Deputy President William Ruto, while Kipkorir backs Raila.
Mutua attended Raila's Azimio la Umoja event in which he announced his presidential bid.
Mutua, who is also the Kenya Human Rights Commission chairperson, said at the event that he sees no competition for Raila in the upcoming General Election.
He said that the office of the president is the most important in the country, and Kenyans must be wary of the character of the person they elect.
He insisted that it is time Kenyans start thinking with their heads and not hearts by looking at the histories of each candidate.
"We must think not with our hearts but our heads and we must look at the histories of the candidates presenting themselves I can tell you there's no competition. It is not even close. If it was a football match it would end at 50 minutes," Mutua said in his address at the Azimo a Umoja convention.
