Why Raila's cake has five layers

The ODM leader's birthday cake had five layers that are symbolic.

The layers have years of regimes of former presidents of this country.

The first layer represented the regime of President Jomo Kenyatta, the second Daniel Torotich Moi, the third Mwai Kibaki and the fourth Uhuru Kenyatta.

The fifth layer symbolised Raila's intended reign as Kenya's fifth President.

Raila cut the cake at exactly 11.47 am.

The 47th minute symbolised the 47 counties represented.
