Kenya record 32 new Covid cases

Kenya has recorded 32 cases of Covid-19 after 480 people were tested in the last 24 hours.

The positivity rate represents 0.6 per cent.

From the cases, 25 are Kenyans while 7 are foreigners. 21 are males while 11 are females.

The youngest is a three-year-old child while the oldest is 62 years.

Total confirmed positive cases are now at 322,978 while cumulative tests so far conducted are 3,376,678.

At the same time, 13 patients have recovered from the disease, 10 from various health facilities countrywide while 3 are from the Home-Based and Isolation Care.

The total number of recoveries is now at 303,274 of whom 250,295 are from the Home-Based Care and Isolation program, while 52,979 are from various health facilities countrywide.

There is no death case recorded

A total of 39 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 496 are under the Home-Based, 7 are in the Isolation and Care program.

Three patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Another 14 patients are on supplemental oxygen.

On vaccination, a total of 16,691,191 vaccines have been administered across the country.

Of these, 7,838,509 are partially vaccinated while those fully vaccinated are 7,611,589.

Another 986,758 are doses administered to those between 15 to 17 years while 254,335 are booster doses.

The total number of vaccines administered in the last 24 hours is 53,053 while the total number of people fully vaccinated are 32,094.

The uptake of the second dose among those who received their first dose was at 63.7 per cent.

The proportion of adults fully vaccinated was 27.9 per cent.

The Government is working towards vaccinating a targeted population of 27,246,033.

According to the briefing by Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, the total number of booster doses administered are 254,335 country-wide.
