A contingent of Kenya Defence Forces officers has taken charge of the Lee Funeral home where President Mwai Kibaki's body will be preserved until his burial.
The presence of heavy security at the morgue saw Agwings Kodhek Road being closed and only selected users were allowed to pass.
The funeral home's gate is under tight security with only a few dignitaries tripping in to view Kibaki's body.
There are also dozens of armed General Service Unit officers together with military men with a battery of journalists, both local and international, present at the mortuary.
Government officials are also present.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu visited the funeral home to view Kibaki's body.
