Former Kiambu CEC Karungo wa Thang'wa has won the Kiambu senatorial seat.

He bagged the seat after getting 579,411 votes.

Thang'wa defeated Waithera Michelle Macharia who got 38,534 votes, Wangondu George Njoroge got 7,566, and Wanjiru Joseph Kamau who got 6,840.

Thang’wa will now succeed incumbent Senator Kimani Wamatangi.

Senator Wamatangi has won the governor position.

He faced off against six candidates who were cleared by the IEBC.
