A man who was in the company of his father enjoying dinner alongside a woman has been charged in court with uprooting the woman’s tooth.

Rodney Kipkemboi Kebeney was charged with causing grievous harm to Honey Karimi Kilingo, the father, contrary to the penal code.

The 31-year-old man however denied the charge before Kibera senior principal magistrate Phillip Mutua.

According to the charge sheet, the accused person committed the offence on September 5 at Madaraka estate in Langata sub-county within Nairobi County.

According to court papers, things went south after the accused person allegedly questioned his father about why he has not been assisting him financially.

The accused person was said to be a bit drunk.

He allegedly insulted his father and even attempted to assault him.

The complainant intervened and recused the man and as a result, the accused person is said to have assaulted her, pushed and banged her against the surfaces injuring her.

In the process of the commotion, the woman's tooth got broken.

She sustained injuries on the head, hands and upper limbs.

The court released him on Sh500,0000 with an alternative cash bail of Sh150,000 with the surety of the same amount.

The court directed that the matter be mentioned on September 22 for pre-trail.
