Former Manga MCA Enock Okero has been elected Nyamira County Assembly speaker.
Okero got 26 votes out of the 35 ballots cast during Monday's election.
Former speaker Moffat Teya got 9 votes in round one.
The contest of the speaker of the County assembly had narrowed down to two after lobbying.
Okero has made his way back into the assembly after losing the MCA seat to Samuel Ogeto in the August polls.
During his speech, Okero called upon all the MCAs to work in handy in ensuring service is delivered to the people.
He said Nyamira needs all leaders to cooperate, work hard and make Nyamira a great place.
"We know as residents of Nyamira, this county needs all of us to come together and make it an admirable place," the new speaker said.
The MCAs are expected to elect their leader of majority, leader of minority and chief whip.
