Double Olympic marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge on Sunday shared pictures as he prepared for the race in Berlin.
Kipchoge who is set to line up for his sixth Berlin Marathon on Sunday is targeting a new course record.
In pictures shared on his Twitter handle, Kipchoge was seen preparing to go out for the race.
He wore his shoes and his socks as pictures of him were taken by his team.
Kipchoge said if he won’t run a world record, then it will definitely be a course record.
“I still believe I can run a course record in Berlin, if not a world record. I don’t know which one will come but I will stick to a course record for now,” he said on Saturday evening.
Kipchoge spoke highly of the Berlin course saying he has great memories there. He finished four races at the course and he expressed excitement about running there again.
He won in 2015, 2017 and 2018 editions of the Berlin marathon and placed second in the 2013 edition.
In 2019, Kipchoge became the first person to run the marathon in under two hours, with an unofficial time of 1:59:40 in Vienna, Austria.
He ran the fourth quickest time in history when he won in Tokyo six months ago and as he returns to the famously fast Berlin course this weekend, he says the city is a “very good place” where the world record could be broken again.
Earlier he said he was happy to be in the streets of Berlin.
"I can say that I’m so fortunate to be back in the streets of Berlin. I can’t wait to see you all on the starting line tomorrow," he said.
