Kanze Dena writes heartfelt message to Uhuru, family as she exits

She was appointed spokesperson in the Executive Office in 2017.

Former State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena has penned down a heartfelt message after her tenure came to an end.

Kanze wrote the message on her Instagram account with a video slide showing photos of her growth during the time she served. 

Kanze was appointed State House spokesperson by former Head of State, Uhuru Kenyatta, in 2017.

She thanked former President Uhuru Kenyatta for giving her the opportunity to serve in the role and added that she learnt a lot from him.

"Let me take this opportunity to thank the PSCU team, the season would not have been successful without your support. I will always treasure you, Colleagues at State House, ministries, parastatals, stakeholders etc," she said.

She also thanked her family for understanding the many times she had to miss events because of work.

"My family and friends,  Asante for cheering me on and understanding when I had to disappoint. I thank you also for holding me in prayer and the fun and laughter and for being protective," she said.

She added she is now ready to engage in fun activities. 

"How would I have done this without you ladies? Sasa roadtrips zianzèe, nawapenda."

Kanze also thanked her parents, husband and children for supporting her.

"My parents, Harry and Jane, though you watched this season from a far, you played very great roles. Your values are etched in me. Mama Zeinab too, I love you."

"My children, all events I missed, birthdays, thank you for understanding," she said.

"A special thank you to my husband Mr Mararo, Thank you! For the tremendous support, the constant pressure to want more, for being Mum and Dad most of the time, Sina words La Azizi." 

Kanze also headed the President's Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU), becoming the first woman in Kenya's history to hold the position.

She will be replaced by Hussein Mohammed.
