President William Ruto on Tuesday held talks with International Monetary Fund managing director Kristalina Georgieva in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.
Ruto said Kenya welcomes the support of the IMF towards building the resilience of the Kenyan economy and ensuring sustainable economic growth.
“We will work with the IMF to help overcome the effects of climate change,” he said.
Ruto also held bilateral talks with Slovakia President Zuzana Caputova.
The head of state said Slovakian firms in different sectors will positively contribute to the growth of Kenya's economy.
“We recognise the interest of Slovakian firms in the energy, transport, construction, infrastructure, water, agriculture and technology that will contribute significantly to our country’s economic growth,” he said.
Ruto left the country for Egypt on Sunday.
The President addressed the United Nation's annual climate change summit in Egypt on Monday.
He spoke on behalf of Kenya and the African group present at the conference held in Sharm El Sheikh.
