Detectives are probing an incident in which a police officer suddenly died at a police post in Mirangine, Nyandarua County.
Police constable Arvin Nzole’s body was found lying on a bed inside his house within Tumaini police post in Mirangine Sub County on Tuesday.
The incident was reported to the same police post where the deceased was attached at 6.30 am on Tuesday.
Police said the body was discovered by the deceased’s colleagues.
A colleague reported that while preparing for examinations coverage duties, he proceeded to the police lines and knocked on the deceased’s door to wake him up to prepare too in vain. There was no response after several attempts.
The officer, according to police, immediately informed the sergeant in charge of the post who immediately accompanied him and forced the door open.
They both entered the house where they found the deceased lying dead on the bed.
Senior police officers from Mirangine sub-county rushed to the scene and found the body lying on the bed.
The scene was processed and and the body was moved to JM Kariuki hospital mortuary awaiting an autopsy.
Police said the DCI Mirangine had launched investigations into the incident.
