President William Ruto on Friday commissioned an Engineering and TVET Complex at Masinde Muliro University.
He reiterated that the government will work with higher learning institutions to strengthen Kenya’s resilience against future threats.
The President also attended the institution's 18th Graduation.
Ruto said it was time for the country to re-invent itself, in the wake of rare disruptions such as climate change and COVID-19.
He said his administration was committed to developing appropriate innovations that will help in the pre-warning and countering of such turbulent occurrences.
"It is our crucial mandate to establish a sustainable capacity as a nation and face the future with confidence despite the knowledge that adverse events, many beyond our control, confront us," he said.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Education CS Ezekiel Machogu were also in attendance.
Others were Sports CS Ababu Namwamba and Kiambu Senator Karungo Thangwa.
