One person is nursing critical injuries after two buses on Wednesday morning collided head on at Ranyandoro, Metamaywa along the Kisii - Nairobi highway.
Fifty-seven other passengers are reported to have suffered minor injuries.
The accident occurred about five kilometres from Keroka town along the Kisii - Nairobi highway.
Keroka traffic boss Osman Hassan said the survivors were in the Kisii Class Bus heading to Kisii when a Kisii Metro bus abruptly swerved to its side causing the collision.
"The impact caused the Kisii bus to veer off and roll causing grave injuries to one passenger. All of them were rushed to Keroka subcounty Hospital where they are being attended to," Hassan said on phone.
