William Kisang sworn in as Elgeyo Marakwet senator

Kisang won the seat in a by-election held on January 5, 2023 after garnering 41,378 votes on a UDA ticket.

William Kisang has been sworn in as Elgeyo Marakwet senator.

Speaker Amason Kingi presided over the short ceremony during a special sitting held on Thursday.

Kisang was elected during the by-election conducted on January 5,2023, after garnering 41,378 votes on a UDA ticket.

The seat fell vacant following the appointment of Kipchumba Murkomen as Transport CS in October 2022.

 

Kisang was escorted into the chamber by majority leader Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho), Alexander Mundigi (Embu) and Godfrey Osotsi (Vihiga).
 
He was then them issued with a copy of the constitution and the senate standing order which will be his tools of trade.
 
His colleagues showered him with praises for winning the election and urged him to works diligently for the people of Elgeyo Marakwet
