The Ministry of Health has come out to dismiss the appointment of Dr Jacinta Wasike as the Acting CEO of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.

The ministry said that the alleged appointment of Dr Wasike is not true.

It had been earlier reported that Dr Wasike had been appointed to act in the stead of the long-serving CEO of the board Dr Fred Siyoi.

Dr Sioyi's tenure was said to have come to an end.

However, the ministry said it was not the case.

Health PS Josephine Mburu confirmed the reappointment of Dr Siyoi for a second four-year term quashing the rumours of his departure from the board.

Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Wafula revoked the appointment of members to the Pharmacy and Poisons Board in new changes.

In a gazette notice dated January 20, the CS revoked the appointment of Paul Magutu Njaria, Dorcas Wanjiru Ngechu, John Munguti Kisengi, Miriam Wairimu Ndirangu, Stephens Ogutu Oyaya and Diana Marion as members of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, with immediate effect.
